Basic Provisions
- The Schemes are based on the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1407/2013 of 13 December 2013 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid and Commission Regulation (EU) No. 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty. as amended by Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1315 of 23 June 2023.
- The training needs of employees of companies/organisations that cannot be met by training Programmes in Cyprus are covered.
- A person proposed for training must be employed by a company/organization and must have the required education and experience to participate effectively in the programme.
- An application for approval must be submitted to the HRDA at least three (3) calendar weeks prior to the start of the programme.
Financial Coverage
A subsidy is provided to the employer, calculated on the basis of the eligible expenses incurred for the employee’s participation in the programme.
Thematic Areas
Every two years, the HRDA publishes the thematic areas for training subsidisation to inform and guide companies/organisations on the thematic areas in which they can choose training programmes abroad.
Cooperation
For each company/organization cooperating with the HRDA for participation in the Single-Company Training Programmes Abroad Scheme, a designated Officer in the Training Services Directorate is available to provide information and technical support at each stage throughout the process. To ensure transparency on the submission of an application, the HRDA issues a Policy and Procedures Guide, which sets out in detail the policy, procedures, as well as the criteria and conditions for the approval and subsidisation of programmes of the Scheme.
