The mission of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth is to provide education at Primary, Secondary General and Secondary Technical and Vocational levels, and to contribute to further strengthening of the European dimension of education in Cyprus.

The main activities of the Ministry include the provision of education at various levels, the development and implementation of school curricula and educational reforms, the design of school buildings and the provision of the necessary equipment. Other activities include cultural issues, the education for children with special needs, adult education, lifelong learning, teachers training and assessment and certification.
