The Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) is the national agency responsible for the support and promotion of research, technological development and innovation in Cyprus. For the implementation of its strategic targets, the RIF designs and manages research programmes and innovation activities, supports the participation of Cypriot researchers in international research activities and provides business support services aiming to enhance the innovation capacity, technology transfer and international networking of the Cypriot entrepreneurial and startup community. At the same time, emphasis is placed on activities for raising awareness and nurturing a research and innovation culture among the society. The RIF was established by the Government of the Republic of Cyprus in 1996 and is a non-profit, private organisation governed by a Board of Directors appointed the Council of Minister of the Republic of Cyprus. Today, RIF acts as the executive arm of the National Research and Innovation Governance System, offering a wide range of services, covering the entire spectrum of the scientific and innovation activity in Cyprus.
