A state university with 3500 students, approximately 500 at postgraduate level.
Has five Faculties: Humanities and Social Sciences, Pure and Applied Sciences, Economics and Management, Letters and Engineering. There are 17 Departments and 3 Research Units.
The main objectives of the University are the promotion of scholarship and education through teaching and research, and the enhancement of the cultural, social and economic development of Cyprus.
Research is promoted and funded in all departments for its contribution to scholarship in general and for its local and international applications.
The University is actively participating in the student mobility programme of the European Union SOCRATES/ERASMUS and in other EU programmes such as LINGUA, TEMPUS, FP6, Marie Curie, MEDA etc
